From day one, the digital readout for internal ambient temperature has been reading 30 degrees more than the actual temp. I used it this way for a few months without knowing that it was inaccurate, resulting in cooks that took hours longer than necessary.
Help with temp setting on Pit Boss electric smoker
WEBApr 20, 2020 · The last 2.5 hours in the smoker, the temp hovered between 225 and 250, so it worked well. I just found out that I have to crank the heat to 350-375 to actually achieve 225-250. I can live with that for the convenience of the electric smoker when I don't have time to fire up the offset. Thanks.

Lots of tending, usually slowed my cooking times since to do anything I had to open the whole thing. Well last year I got a Pit Boss Electric smoker. Just a little up right one no hopper or auger.

WEBMay 9, 2021 · I've just tried to do the initial "Burn Off" for my BRAND NEW Pit Boss blue blazing 3 series vertical Electric Smoker. Manual stated a temp of 350° for about 30-40 minutes. After 2 hrs the temperature gauge was still only reading 250°. I have been in touch with Pit Boss customer service and am awaiting their response.

Heat waiting at the top of the tank waiting to get out. The middle two racks are the same and never used the bottom rack for food so I never checked.

WEBAug 8, 2019 · Since it was Pit Boss brand and a Pit Boss smoker and the first run, I figured I would see how it did. I have not had any issues, but others have reported problems with the fire back burning through the auger. I would presume pellet dust in the auger to be the likely culprit, but I may be wrong. Again, I have not had an issue.
