Closing prices for crude oil, gold and other commodities
Gold for December delivery rose $7.80 to $2,480.80 per ounce. Silver for September delivery fell 46 cents to $28.48 per ounce, and September copper fell 9 cents to $4.09 per pound. The dollar fell to 149.58 Japanese yen from 150.47 yen. The euro fell to $1.0784 from $1.0827.
