Odds increase for tropical disturbance in Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico NHC says: Will it affect Florida?
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is keeping a close eye on three tropical disturbances, including a system in the northwestern Caribbean Sea and southeastern Gulf of Mexico that has a 40% chance for development over the next seven days.
Possible tropical disturbance could move into Gulf of Mexico next week
An area of low pressure is expected to slowly develop this weekend in the northwestern Caribbean Sea. It could develop into a tropical depression late this weekend or early next week as it moves into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. As of Thursday at 2 a.m., the NHC has placed a 40% chance for tropical development in the next seven days.
